GUARDIAN FORCES
Guardian Force is a term used in Final Fantasy VIII which means basically the same thing as a summon spell. One of the major differences in FF VIII is that the Materia System is no longer used. Instead, Guardian Forces and another technique known as Draw/Stock is now used. Your GFs also may learn up to 22 abilities. Some of the Guardian Forces include:
Leviathan (Recover, Supt. Mag-RF)
Water-based magic attack
Ifrit (Mad Rush, F Mag-RF)
Fire-based magic attack
Shiva (Doom, I Mag-RF)
Ice-based magic attack
Pandemona (Auto-Haste, Spd +40%)
Haste effect on all allies
Siren (Elem Def)
Silences all affected enemies
Carbuncle (Mag +20%)
Reflect effect on all allies
Cerberus (Double + Triple)
Double/Triple effect on all allies
Quezacotl (Card, Card Mod)
Lightning-based magic attack
Diablos (Darkside, Time Mag-RF)
Time/Space magic damage where Damage=%MaxHP for every 10 Lv.
Doomtrain (Elem Def x4)
Status ailments for all affected enemies
Brothers (Spd-J)
Earth-based magic attack
Jumbo Cactuar (Initiative)
1000HP damage per 10 Lv.
Tonberry King (LV Down, LV Up)
Non-elemental damage to one opponent
Eden (Forbid Mag-RF, GF Abl Med-RF)
10,000HP+ damage to all opponents/ignores defense
Bahamut (Forbid Mag-RF, Forbid Med, RF)
Fire-based magic attack/ignores defenseNote that when a GF is used, its HP replaces your character's HP, and it becomes more powerful the more it is used in battle.
