Final Fantasy IX Magic System
The magic system of Final Fantasy IX once again uses Magic Points (MP). However, unlike the previous Final Fantasy games, Final Fantasy IX uses a system where the magic you may use is determined by your equipment. This equipment is also only able to be equipped by specific party members.
The Summoning system is like that of the previous Final Fantasy games. You have to be given the power to summon a creature by actually meeting that creature. So far, Bahamut and Odin are the only confirmed summons for Final Fantasy IX.
